[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] “A win-win agreement has been drawn up on accommodations for empty houses in rural areas,” Hong Nam-ki, the deputy prime minister and minister of Strategy and Finance, said on Monday.

Hong held the third Innovation Growth Strategy meeting at the Seoul Government Complex on the day and discussed the agenda for accommodation for empty houses in rural areas. “The most important thing for creating new industries and new markets, which are the core of innovation growth, is to resolve the conflicts and conflicts between existing regulatory barriers and stakeholders quickly,” Hong said. “We first drew up a win-win agreement by applying the one-step model, which was announced as a mechanism for resolving conflicts between win-win at the second meeting in June.”

In the meantime, there has been a conflict between the lodging industry and new businesses due to conflicts with the purpose of the lodging system in rural areas and concerns about safety. “We have made a an agreement by using the Win-win Menu, such as forming a cooperative relationship and sharing profits, to each of our stakeholders take a step at a time,” Hong said.

Specifically, the new operator accepted the limited conditions compared to the desired business scope, and the operator can operate for 300 days a year in 50 empty houses in five cities and counties. The existing private housing industry has accepted the demonstration exception in connection with support such as safety education and consulting to enhance competitiveness.

“We will provide financial support measures to create a safe accommodation environment for rural areas and strengthen the competitiveness of the private-sector industry,” Hong said. “We will continue to support the revitalization of new businesses through the rapid resolution of conflicts between stakeholders in order to spread the virtuous cycle of win-win and innovation.”
