According to a foreign diplomat on Thursday, Lee met with Japanese Ambassador to Korea Domitah Koji at a meeting in Seoul on October 10. The vice chairman and Ambassador Domitah reportedly discussed the issue while eating together. Lee, who graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Oriental History, received a master's degree from Keio Kijuku Graduate School in Japan and is fluent in Japanese.
Lee has been engaged in a wide range of exchanges with Japanese business circles. When the Japanese government began to regulate exports to Korea in July last year, he met with local businessmen in Japan. In September last year, he attended the opening ceremony and opening ceremony of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Tokyo, Japan, with the invitation of Japanese business circles.
