[Infostock Daily= Reporter An Hoe Hyun] LG Display has officially requested the U.S. government to allow display parts export to Huawei in China.
LG Display has supplied panels such as smartphone OLED(organic light emitting diodes) to Huawei, but due to U.S. sanctions, Huawei will not be able to deliver the entire panel as display panel driving chips(drive IC) are included in the sanctions.
Prior to this, Samsung Display, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix applied for a license to maintain transactions with Huawei. LG Display is reported to have delayed the application due to preparations such as document review.
If the U.S. permits, it is exceptionally possible to supply products to Huawei. However, given the U.S. government's strong willingness to impose sanctions on Huawei, it is unlikely that the U.S. will grant permission.
