[Infostock Daily= Reporter An Hoe Hyun] Naver launched its global research evaluation service 'Scholytics' in Korea on the 12th.
Scholytics is a research evaluation solution that provides unit-specific research performance indicators such as national, school, department, and researchers. The FWCI(Field-Weighted Citation Impact) index, which indicates the qualitative level of the study, and the research performance information such as the number of papers, quotations, and coauthor type analysis can be grasped at a glance.
Naver Scholytics has 170,000 research institutes, 20 million paper authors, and 150,000 journal information.
If existing research evaluation solutions only provide research results by university, Scholytics provides research results by college and department. It is possible to accurately evaluate the superior sub-organization of university institutions and compare research performance according to various units.
Unlike previous research evaluation solutions, which have provided research performance information focusing on English-speaking journals, research results of English-speaking journals as well as research results of academic information written in Korean have been provided, enabling the evaluation of the contribution of Korean researchers.
With Naver Scholytics providing the FWCI index based on various global journal indexes, comprehensive research results between academic fields will also be able to be compared and analyzed fairly. In the existing industry, it was difficult to objectively compare academic fields because it provided average quotations per paper and did not reflect the characteristics of specific academic fields with high average quotations.
Naver plans to increase the number of Scholytics users in Korea and to compete with global companies by launching 'Scholytics' in the global market this year by complementing Asian local data such as Japan and China.
