[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] Three stocks were included in the Korea Index of MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), including Seegene, Alteozen and Shinpoong Pharmaceutical. On the other hand, Hyundai Department Store, HelixMiss and Daewoo E & C were out of the MSCI Korea Index.
MSCI announced the announcement in a quarterly review on Wednesday; the stocks announced will be reflected in the index from September 1 after the close of the market on August 31.
MSCI Korea index is evaluated and selected as market capitalization. Stocks with increased market capitalization are newly incorporated and stocks with reduced market capitalization are excluded from the index.
MSCI's included stocks will benefit from not only global passive funds following MSCI but also active investment funds.
In the regular change, the market capitalization and the floating ratio will be further evaluated in order to take into account the possibility of investment along with the market capitalization based on the closing price of the randomly selected day of the last 10 business days in July.
In order to be newly incorporated in the MSCI quarterly review, the market capitalization should be more than 3.8 trillion won per day and the current market capitalization should be more than 2.7 trillion won.
