[Infostock Daily = Reporter Kim Jong Hyo] An official discussion body has been launched to study OTT(online video service) policies with government, academia and companies by putting their heads together.
The Ministry of Science and ICT officially launched the ‘Internet Video Service Legal System Research Society’ at the Samjung Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 31st.
The research group consists of about 20 people, including related university professors such as media, law, economy, and management, research institutes, officials from domestic and foreign OTT companies, and Ministry of Science and Technology.
Netflix also participated in the event along with Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Kakao, Wave, Watcha, Tving and Seezn.
The research group plans to hold a seminar once a month by the end of this year and hold discussions with presentations on OTT-related overseas cases and market trends.
