The three mobile carriers, including SK Telecom(017670), KT(030200) and LG U+(032640) will be fined 51.2 billion won for violating the Mobile Distribution Act.
On August 8, the Korea Communications Commission decided to impose a total of 51.2 billion won in fines on three mobile carriers who violated the Mobile Distribution Act and discriminated the subsidy between users by holding a general meeting. SK Telecom is the largest with 22.3 billion won, followed by KT with 15.4 billion won and LG U+ with 13.5 billion won. The Korea Communications Commission imposed a total of 272.4 million won in fines for 125 retailers that violated the prior approval or unfairly paid discriminatory subsidies.
